Why Winter Wonderland is special
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is the UK’s biggest festive extravaganza, combining a German-style market with 100+ rides, immersive shows and themed bars. Expect the Bavarian Village beer halls, the Magical Ice Kingdom with sculpted ice scenes, the world’s tallest transportable observation wheel, Zippos Christmas Circus and Cirque Berserk. The iconic ice rink encircles Hyde Park’s Victorian bandstand, while the new Crystal Maze challenge debuts in 2025.
Book timed entry (early slots are free) and add packages like an ice-skating session, Bar Ice cocktail experience or the Santaland rides for children. It’s a full-day (or evening) outing that feels more like a festive theme park than a traditional market.
Getting there
By train & tube
Nearest tube stations: Marble Arch (Central line), Hyde Park Corner (Piccadilly), Knightsbridge (Piccadilly) and Green Park (Victoria/Jubilee/Piccadilly). Paddington station is a 15-minute walk.
By coach
Victoria Coach Station is two stops away on the Victoria line. Numerous sightseeing buses include Winter Wonderland on their festive routes.
Driving & parking
Driving is strongly discouraged; there is no event parking. Park in outer London and continue via tube or use National Rail into Paddington.
Accessibility
Step-free access is available at the Blue Badge entrance (Serpentine Road). Accessible toilets are located across the site; companion tickets can be arranged for paid attractions.

Make a weekend of it
Combine Winter Wonderland with London’s Christmas lights on Oxford Street and Regent Street, festive afternoon tea at a nearby hotel, and West End shows. For quieter markets, explore Covent Garden’s bauble displays, Southbank Winter Festival or Leicester Square’s Spiegeltent.
Plan your trip
Accommodation
Book hotels or guesthouses as early as possible—weekend dates around the market book up quickly. Consider nearby villages for boutique stays.
Travel
Rail is often the most convenient way to arrive. If driving, look for park and ride services to avoid city-centre congestion.
Accessibility
Most markets provide accessible routes, but cobbles and temporary surfaces can be uneven—check the organiser accessibility guide linked below.
Weather Ready
Pack layers, waterproof footwear and gloves (touchscreen-friendly for photos). Early sessions are quieter; evenings bring the best atmosphere.
